Hello everyone, good day. Today we are joined by Brandon Leibowitz, a SEO master who has been working in search engine optimization since 2007. Welcome to the show, brandon.
Speaker 3:
Thank you for having me on today.
Speaker 2:
Appreciate it. I think that most marketers know how important search engine optimization is and it's foundational to doing their marketing, but there's a lot of technical work that has to go on there. Sometimes it can be tedious. It takes a long time. The question that a lot of marketers and executives have is what's the upside? If you get it right and you can get really good search engine optimization, what does success really look like? I was wondering if you could share a story with us, over your many years of experience, of what has been one of the most successful things you've done in SEO, either on your own behalf or with one of your clients.
Speaker 3:
There's been lots of success stories. One recent client that I've been working with the past couple months. They have a travel website and they're just trying to rank for different travel vacations and packages and things like that. They've been around for a while. They had a pretty good reputation with Google. They have a lot of backlinks which are very important for SEO. The way the website was structured wasn't the best. We went in and pretty much restructured the whole website and created a bunch of new pages carry all these different locations. Because they're offering travel packages, we want to let people know which cities, states, countries, continents are available Really. By restructuring and creating by hundreds of new pages for them, their traffic tripled within a few months. Usually it takes a lot longer for SEO, but since they've already been around for a long time, they have a lot of backlinks. We've already trusted them. It's just now making sure that their website was easy for Google to read, understand and knowing what keywords that they're targeting. So creating all these new pages, putting keywords into the coding like the title tag and the description, all these technical places that got Google to see now that they offer travel vacation packages to all these different locations and that really shot their traffic up really quickly. You can judge it with me building new backlinks to just keep Google to see that they're still relevant and people are still talking about them, because backlinks really are one of the most important things for a website. But if you already have backlinks and you're not getting those rankings and either the backlinks are wrong, you're building low quality backlinks for Google's having a trouble reading and understanding what your website's about. So, cleaning up all that coding, creating all those pages, really shot them up really fast. Most websites take much longer, but sometimes there's ways to help Google better read and understand those pages and then also building new backlinks. The way I was building backlinks for them is well, they were open to being on podcasts, which is a great way to get backlinks. So getting them booked on other niche-related podcasts. Also getting them interviews on other trade magazines and publications, and really just trying to look at your competitors' backlinks and try to figure out where your competitor's getting backlinks from, what sites are linking out to them, and reach you out to the sites to see if they would potentially link out to us, and that really got them to move up those rankings really quickly.
Speaker 2:
So the impact was they tripled their traffic. That's what you said, right?
Speaker 3:
Yeah, but then about two and a half months, when usually something like that takes about six months on average. I mean every website's different, it's no one size fits all, but since they've already been around and had some history and trust built up with Google, now it's just making sure that Google could read and understand the website and by making those changes to the website and building some backlinks they just really tripled their traffic within about two and a half months.
Speaker 2:
Yeah, that's awesome. And when people do SEO really well, you know, as compared to the much more expensive approach of Advertising, the pay-per-click Do, you have a lot of clients that sometimes get far more organic traffic than they do traffic from advertising.
Speaker 3:
The traffic from ads are good as long as you're making a positive return on ad spend. I would say there's nothing wrong with spending money on ads as long as you're making more than you're putting in. But if you're bleeding money out then I would shut those ads off. But the ads really just depends on how much you budget to it. If you're spending $10,000 a day, then you could get significantly more traffic than other sources. But most people are spending $20-$50 a day so they're not getting that much traffic from the ads. Plus, people don't trust the ads versus the organic. So you get a lot of traffic from the ads but in terms of conversion rate Organic is always going to far surpass anything else or paid ads, because people just trust organic more than paid ads.
Speaker 2:
Yeah, the conversion rate, of course, is the key. It's not just about getting the clicks, it's about getting getting the conversions. So triple the traffic, you know, with a better conversion rate on the organic traffic, is a really great impact. What would you say was the hardest thing about doing this? Is it creating the hundreds of pages? Is it doing the tedious work to get all the backlinks? Like, like, what was the hardest Challenges that had to be overcome to get that kind of result?
Speaker 3:
adding content to the pages. That's a big part. It's just creating a page isn't going to do it, so you have to add unique content to every single page and that's the part that takes the most time is creating unique content that's relevant and that speaks to the user, has right keywords in the right places and all the kind of technical things that go into making sure that it's probably optimized. But schema code, header tags, all tags for images, make sure, like the title tag, my description, are all in place. All it gets kind of technical, but really one important thing that's not technical is just adding more content to each page.
Speaker 2:
Awesome. Well, thank you for sharing this case study. Random, that's definitely inspirational. If people can look to do things like get triple the traffic from doing this kind of hard work, it looks like it'll pay off before we wrap up. I think you said that you had a Resource for people listening. You want to share what that is.

I received my Bachelors of Science in Business Marketing for California State University of Long Beach.
My name is Brandon Leibowitz and I run and operate SEO Optimizers. We are a digital marketing company that focuses on helping small and medium-sized businesses get more online traffic, which in turn converts into clients, sales, leads, etc.
I got my start in digital marketing in 2007 after graduating from college with my degree in Business Marketing. In my first job, I handled the marketing aspects of an e-commerce website.
The company that I worked for was a national e-commerce brand that had recently built their website and was looking to bring more traffic to it. I had no idea what I was doing and neither did they. I spent a lot of my time reading books and joining digital marketing forums to learn as much as possible about this new type of marketing.
I helped them with the following tasks: search engine optimization, email marketing campaigns, creating an affiliate program, optimizing paid ads on Google AdWords, setting up social media profiles, and a bit of web design. You could say that I wore a lot of hats working for this company.
In 2008, I realized that most businesses would need a website to stay competitive in the future. Having a website is only one piece of the puzzle. Ultimately, they need someone to help market their website to bring in traffic that will, in turn, convert to clients.
I made the decision to stick with digital marketing and since then have started my own company, SEO Optimizers. A friend… Read More
